About the author:

Lansing "Lang" Campbell was a New York illustrator of children's stories, best known for illustrating the Howard Garis cartoon series Uncle Wiggily's Adventures. During the 1920's, he began writing and illustrating his own series of children's books, including Merry Murphy, Paddy the Pup, and The Dinky Ducklings. His cartoons have appeared in Life magazine. He retired to Maine in the 1950's.
